BROKEN!!

Hi all!

On Saturday the 25th, as I went to my driveway to attend longsword class, I slipped on ice and severely broke 2 bones above my ankle and tore the ligement.

My foot was all out of shape and bent. I knew I broke it instantly. I heard a huge crack as I fell. Yikes! Very scary...especially as it was my first broken bone ever. Thank God my wife was home and heard me. Called an ambulance and was given morphine for the pain (which wasn't much? I expected more?). Mmmmmm....morphine! Great invention. I was quickly assessed and xrayed at the hospital. I was booked for surgery. They had to put plates/pins in to fix the breaks.

I fianlally got in Monday. I opted to take the spinal tap drugs and stay awake (so I could go home the same day). Wow! What a crazy feeling that was! I couln't even feel people touching my legs. Numb from the waist down. Surgery at 1 pm,and honme by 8 pm. what a day!

I am blessed to work where I do. They are very understanding and have given me the week off to rest (without having to use my vacation time!)

So..estimated recoop time = 10 weeks!!! UUgh! I am so tired already of "laying around". ANyhow, just wanted to share.
